The Company:
We are working with a contractor who are a well-established, national, profitable construction group who are active in a number of market sectors.
Their North West region have recently secured a number of new contracts and have the opportunity to bid for further work via a number of key regional procurement frameworks and via private developers with whom they enjoy a good working relationship.
They have a long established and very knowledgeable senior management team and although they are one of the Top 20 Construction Groups in the UK they have the feel of a smaller family business where employees are valued and supported.

The Role:
They are now in a position to add to their small North West Pre-Construction team.
Typical projects are generally constructed for Public and Private Sector clients and are generally in one of their key focussed sectors (commercial, education, healthcare, multi-storey residential, blue light, leisure and industrial).
Reporting in to the Pre-Construction Manager you'll be involved in Expressions of Interest, PQQs and Bids on Frameworks and individual tenders.

Working with the rest of the Pre-Construction team typical duties could include;
• Coordinate tenders for EOI through to submission
• Translate technical input into plain English
• Liaise with the Client and their representatives
• Work closely with the Estimators, Design team, Planners and Ops teams to generate persuasive bids that meet and exceed client expectations
• Identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account
• Provide project Case Studies from the Bid Library and updating accordingly
• Support the pre-construction team with client presentations and meetings
• Awareness of value engineering opportunities that may differentiate the offering
• Work with other pre-construction teams in other parts of the country sharing and championing Best Practice

Your background:
Ideally, you will have worked in a Bid Writing, Proposals or Submissions role previously for a building contractor : they would also be interested in speaking with someone working in a construction role who has some pre-construction/bidding experience who would be open to a change of role.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West daily.
IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office inc. Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe In Design & PowerPoint.
