Clerk of Works General Construction

The company:

We are working with a long established regional construction Group who cover the whole construction life cycle from project finance/development, construction through to FM/maintenance.
They have successfully moved into a number of new market sectors over the last 12 months and have a clear vision of where they are going in the next stage of their development.

The role:

To work closely with the Site teams to ensure that projects are being carried out to the company's high standards by ensuring that the architects and engineers specifications are being adhered to and the programme is being followed to schedule.
Carry out regular site inspections and prepare written reports for the teams to highlight and issues relating to quality, design, resource and safety.
Continually assess action points from these reports to ensures that the issues are actioned immediately to ensure the progress of the projects is not compromised.
Liaison as necessary with Group Quality Manager concerning audits and remedial actions.

The person:

Well qualified ideally to NVQ Level 3 or relevant HNC/HND as well as a current CSCS card.
Able to demonstrate a wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements.
A track record of successfully carrying out a similar role with a main contractor exhibiting an attention to detail in checking work and materials.
An ability to develop productive relationships with internal site teams and external stakeholders through persuasive and diplomatic reasoning.
