Our Client:
We are working with one of the leading contractors in Manchester.
They only build larger value, technically challenging projects for a select group of clients mainly in Central Manchester.
They have a very approachable and successful senior management team, secure the overwhelming majority of their projects through negotiation (they are good at what they do and tend to leave their clients pleased with their projects) and are one of the Top 20 Construction Groups in the UK.
They are in the middle of a period of sustained growth in the North West of England.

The Role:
They are now in a position to add to their small North West Planning team.
They work with both Public and Private Sector clients and schemes are generally either commercial, education, residential or industrial in nature.
The initial scheme you'd be focussed on will be large multi-storey residential development based in Manchester city centre on whoch you would lead the planning.
Reporting in to the Regional Planner you'll be involved in both tender and contract planning with typical duties including;
• Analyse construction methodologies looking for areas of improvement.
• Liaise with the Client and their representatives on planning matters.
• Prepare tender programmes.
• Attend client interviews and meetings where you will explain programmes and methodology.
• Prepare master programmes, updating progress and forecasting completions.
• Identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account.
• Work with the Planning team to identify and champion Best Practice.

Ideally, you will have worked in a Planning role previously for one of the larger building contractors : they would be happy to take someone at Planner level looking to take the next step in their career but would ideally like an established and experience Senior Planner.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West daily.
IT literate with experience using specialist planning software : they use ASTA.

You will get the chance to work on land mark projects in the North West.
You will receive a great salary package with extensive benefits.
The opportunity to work with an award winning, forward thinking organisation that have an excellent order book, very low staff turnover and provide an exciting environment in which to work.
