The Company:
We are working with a leading privately owned Building Contractor and Developer whose NW Regional Construction team would generally deliver projects across Care, Affordable Living, Education and Health sectors.
The Role:
They are now in a position to recruit an Assistant Buyer to their small Procurement team due to a good pipeline of projects due to start on site during 2021 and beyond.
This is a new role and you will be working with an experienced Buyer who will provide guidance and support.
The role entails assisting with the procurement of materials and plant hire for their various projects.
You will submit enquiries and place orders with approved suppliers ensuring orders are delivered on the required date and purchased at the most competitive rates and within specified budget
Liaison with your sites keeping them informed about order dates and resolving any issues
Visit sites to verify materials and plant is present and discuss future requirements
Keeping track of the plant on hire and off hiring quickly to limit costs
Establishing good relationships with sites and your supply chain
Negotiating prices for material and plant
Ensure orders are of the quality requested
Chase up deliveries that are late
Make stakeholders aware of delivery lead times, price variations and scarcity
Process invoices
At all times comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.
You:
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in Buying role for a Contractor or developer previously, they would also be interested in someone with a construction qualification looking for an entry level role with a really good willingness to learn.
You will be based in or be able to commute to North Wales daily.
You will have a good understanding of the construction process and construction product knowledge.
You will be able to negotiate in a professional manner and will have good numeracy skills.
IT literate.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
