We are working with a leading Regional Building Contractor whose Construction team would generally deliver projects for clients principally based around Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire. Projects delivered in the region have been in the commercial, residential, industrial, care and leisure sectors.
They are now in a position to recruit a Design Coordinator to join their small Design team due to an excellent pipeline of projects due to start on site in 2022.
Generally, working alongside an experienced Senior Design Manager and with the support and guidance of the company Directors you will be tasked with controlling design activity on projects through the pre-construction, delivery and aftercare phases.
You will look for opportunities for value engineering and provide advice on design risk to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
You will ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications.
Ensure aftercare is carried out to remedy any issues in conjunction with your sub-contractors.
It's likely you will have worked as an Assistant Design Manager, Design Manager or Design Coordinator on construction projects previously or you may work in an Architectural role and be open to a new challenge.
They would also be interested to speak with people who would join them as a Trainee Design Coordinator – you would need either a Construction qualification, practical site experience or preferably both to enable you to be successful in the role. Training and support will be provided.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
Commercially aware with an understanding of value engineering.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
The successful individual will receive a good salary and package that includes a variety of benefits.
You will be working with a forward thinking, award winning contractor who take on varied schemes and can provide a challenging and supportive working environment.
You will be a member of a small regional team where your thoughts and ideas will be appreciated.
