A leading Contractor whose NW Construction team would generally deliver larger valued projects for public and private sector clients.
Successfully completed schemes have been in the commercial, residential, retail and leisure sectors.
They are well established in the North West and have good mutually beneficial relationships with private sector clients who have given them a number of repeat schemes.
They earn above average margins on schemes they have an impressive pipeline of work for 2022 and beyond.
The Position:
They are now in a position to add a Design Manager to their Regional Design Team as they are working on a number of schemes in preconstruction that are due to be awarded over the course of the next few months.
The role would entail joining one of these projects during preconstruction and taking it to site through to handover.
Many of your colleagues are predominantly working from home, visiting site or the office for meetings, they are happy for someone to work in a similar fashion if desired.
You will provide advice on design risk and opportunities for value engineering to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
Attend design meetings with the client, their representatives, consultants and supply chain.
Once projects are on site you will ensure the delivery team are working to the specifications.
You:
Ideally, you will have worked as a Design Manager or Design Co-ordinator previously on building projects of a significant size and will likely have either an architectural, construction engineering or site management background.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
Commercially aware with an awareness of value engineering.
IT literate.
Good construction knowledge.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
