£45,000 to £50,000 Per Annum
We are working with one of the leading subcontractors in the North West who successfully deliver an interesting mix of projects for a varied client base in Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire. They work with many of the leading Main Contractors and developers, are none contractual, profitable and have a long successful track record in the North West.
They are able to negotiate a good proportion of their turnover due to good, mutually beneficial relationships they have with their clients.
This role is primarily office based with site visits.
They have a really good pipeline of work due to start on site this year and have consequently decided to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.
They'd like someone to join them within the next couple of months as they have a number of projects to start on site in Spring/Summer 2021 and they'd like someone to work on projects through pre-construction to have a better understanding of the schemes by the time they hit site.
Typical packages are valued up to £2 Million.
They require a QS or Senior QS who is capable of managing the commercial elements of 2-3 projects simultaneously reporting in to the Commercial Manager.
You will work closely with the preconstruction and operations teams to help reach a successful commercial outcomes on your projects.
General responsibilities will include the following;
Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes,
Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities,
Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Manager,
Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account,
Appointment of Suppliers in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts,
To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures,
Maintain a close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project and
Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.
Ideally, they would like to recruit a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS who has previously worked for either a main contractor or subcontractor.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will be IT literate.
Contractually aware with knowledge of JCT & NEC Contracts.
