Senior Construction Planner

Our client is a top-tier multinational multi award winning main contractor with a turnover in the billions whose North West Building team has created a great reputation for delivering significant, varied and interesting projects and have constructed iconic schemes in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Lancashire.
They are cash rich, typically make above industry average margins on their projects, have an excellent supply chain who they pay promptly and treat with respect, staff turnover is low and their staff are among the best in the industry.
Due to expanding their portfolio across the Northern Powerhouse and with recent work wins in Leeds, they are looking to recruit a Yorkshire based team to oversee the build of a £40m residential project and future works throughout Yorkshire.
A position of high priority for our client is a Senior Construction Planner to undertake the following responsibilities / duties (not limited to);
- Development of design, procurement and construction programmes that are compliant with project requirements
- Production of tender stage method statements
- Preparation of logistics, sequencing and phasing layouts
- Analysing construction methodologies, looking for areas of improvement
- Liaising with the Client and their representatives on planning matters
- Preparing master programmes, updating progress and forecasting completions
- Identifying and mitigating risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account
- Providing leadership and training, contributing to the progression of Junior Planners and other reporting staff
To be successful in this role you must have;
- A proven track record operating in a Planning role for a building contractor, with experience of working as planning lead on large scale projects
- Knowledge of planning packages (ASTA, Primavera etc.) & construction management experience
- An understanding of D&B projects with a relevant construction qualification
- Involvement in the handling of design programmes and experience of project control processes
