Bid Manager

The Company:

We are working with a leading building subcontractor whose North West Head Office has created an excellent reputation for delivering interesting projects for leading blue-chip clients in the public and private sector.

They have strong relationships with their private sector clients which means they enjoy a good proportion of repeat, negotiated business and also secure significant levels of work through public sector Frameworks/portals.
Their senior management team are dynamic, knowledgeable and very approachable.
They are a real success story that have grown consistently over the last 5 years and already have a strong pipeline of work for 2024 and beyond.
They are in the fortunate position to be able to pick and choose the market sectors and clients who they work with.
Current sectors include; education, higher education, healthcare, retail, defence, residential and local authority markets.

The Role:

They are looking to recruit a Bid Manager to join their Pre-Construction team in their North West Office.

The role reports directly in to their Managing Director and has responsibility for ensuring the success of bids. 
Involvement in bid/no bid decision making.
Identifying and completing public sector PQQs and tenders.
Work closely with the Estimating team providing information for private sector bids.
Providing Requests for Information and producing high-quality case studies to support bids.
Marketing support, updating and improving social media presence and website content.
Quality Management, document control, updating approved subcontractor list.
Liaise with external consultants.
Key to the success in this role is to ensure that all the client’s questions are answered persuasively with the correct level of detail giving the bid the best possible chance of success.

You will be responsible for generating high-quality written bids, tenders, and quotation materials, working alongside the pre-construction team and other staff.

You will provide admin support from initial enquiry to tender submission, including bid writing input from simple quotations and client enquiries to large scale bid proposals and tender submissions.

You will help to source new clients by monitoring portals and sources of potential tender opportunities for the business.

Ensuring that the correct documents are submitted as part of bids.

You’ll thoroughly edit and proof-read materials that leave the building to ensure that information is formatted and grammatically correct without spelling errors, is well-researched, follows company brand guidelines and meets/exceeds customers’ requirements.

Suggest improvements to the bid process, developing best practice.

Create written content which is persuasive.
 

You:

To be successful in this role you’ll need to have worked in a bidding role previously (Bid Manager/ Bid Writer/ Bid or Proposals Coordinator) ideally gained in the construction or associated industries.
You will be able to inspire confidence in internal and external stakeholders.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England.
