The Company:
We are working with an Affordable Housing Contractor who are looking to add a Buyer to their team. They are a very profitable and cash-rich contractor with high profit margins. They have a healthy pipeline of work for 2025 and beyond.
The Role:
You will ordinarily be office based but will be required to visit sites, suppliers etc. across the region too. General responsibilities will include the following;
• Research and contact new suppliers initiating business relationships and partnerships
• Negotiate new contracts including rebates
• Have overall control for ordering materials and plant
• Risk management
• Initiate spending controls where required
• Work closely with other departments putting in place and following robust processes and
procedures that aid rather than hinder the construction process
You:
You will have a good understanding of material and plant prices and ideally a network of contacts to benchmark against
You will have worked for a housing contractor/developer or building contractor.
You will be able to commute to their office in Lancashire.
You will be IT literate and contractually aware.
