Graduate QS

The Company:

We are working with an award winning Regional Building Contractor whose NW team would generally deliver projects for public and private sector clients valued up to £6 Million.
They are privately owned, cash rich and secure work from a combination of public sector procurement frameworks and private sector clients.

The Role:

Due to growth and an impressive pipeline of work already secured for 2024, they are in the middle of a recruitment drive that we are helping them with and they would like to recruit a Quantity Surveying Graduate to their small but growing Commercial Team.

The role involves working closely with the Quantity Surveyors working on new build and refurbishment projects for blue chip clients.

On-going support and development will be provided by the QSs, Senior QS’s, Company Directors.

Typical duties can include;

1.    Subcontract management

2.    Internal and external valuations

3.    Subcontract final accounts

4.    Document management and control

5.    Completing take offs

6.    Issuing payment notices

7.    Placement and tracking of subcontract orders

They would like to recruit a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join their small, friendly Commercial team based in Lancashire.

They are keen to speak with recent Quantity Surveying Graduates or alternatively non QS Graduates with at least a year's practical Quantity Surveying experience gained locally.

They have a really good training and development programme that has seen a number of their junior QSs progress into QS and Snr QS roles.

You will be based in or be able to commute to Lancashire – they currently work on construction sites based between the South Lakes down to Wigan/Bolton so it's a tight Geographical patch to work in.

You will be IT literate and have an understanding of construction contracts.
You will need to have a Driving Licence to commute to the sites.

The successful person will receive a good salary and benefits.

They offer a structured and effective training and development programme.

You will be working with a contractor who are well respected, who are members of most of the key regional construction frameworks and are in great financial health so offer a secure future.

They have a low staff turnover as people enjoy working for them so don't tend to move on.
