£45,000 to £55,000 Per Annum
We are working with one of the North West of England's best known contractors who successfully deliver high profile, new build and conversion projects for a varied client base across the North West of England.
They are renowned for their excellent training and development programme and their policy of giving their team the opportunity to take on significant levels of responsibility at relatively early stages in their career.
The vast majority of their projects come from repeat business from an enviable client base.
Their supply chain include some of the best subcontractors in the North West as they pay them on time & treat them well.
They typically achieve above industry average margins.
They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team due to a number of recently secured projects. Typical projects they take on include commercial, industrial, residential, heritage and leisure projects. They have secured a couple of significant projects due to start on site in the coming months including an interesting £25 Million new build project based in Warrington for a client they have worked with previously.
They want to recruit a Project QS to work alongside a Senior QS with a Trainee QS reporting in on the project.
You will work closely with the operations and technical teams to help reach a successful commercial outcome on your project.
General responsibilities will include the following;
Undertake all commercial and contractual requirements on the designated projects in accordance with the company procedures and processes,
Ensuring sound financial performance including profitability, cash flow, and managing risks and opportunities,
Preparation of accurate and detailed monthly cost reports for review with the Commercial Manager,
Good working knowledge of and application of Main Contract and Sub-Contract Forms and Standard Method of Measurement,
Preparing and agreeing Monthly Valuations, including valuing variations and forecast final account,
Appointment of Subcontractors in accordance with Company Procedures, including procurement and account management including valuations, payment notices and agreement of final accounts,
To work closely with Contracts Management to ensure all required site records and correspondence are completed in accordance with the specific Contract requirements and Company Procedures, Maintain a close working relationship with the client and design team to assist in the success of the project and
Liaise with Contracts Management to review and monitor project costs whilst achieving high standards of quality and health and safety.
Ideally, they would like to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor who has previously worked on significant building projects either managing schemes as a No 1 or overseeing significant subcontract packages on larger projects. They would also be keen to speak with Assistant and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors who are ready take the next steps in their careers – they are great at supporting progression.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will be IT literate
Very contractually aware with specific knowledge of JCT Contracts.
