Quantity Surveyor | Regional Contractor | North Yorkshire | £50k - £65k + Package
I’m working with a long-established, highly regarded regional contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline of work across Yorkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a range of sectors. The role will be a mix of office and site-based work, offering real involvement across the full project lifecycle.
The Role;
You’ll take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities include;
- Managing project costs from inception to completion
- Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Procuring subcontractors and managing the tender process
- Assessing and valuing subcontractor applications and variations
- Negotiating subcontractor packages and final accounts
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Producing valuations, applications for payment, and cash flow forecasts
- Working closely with site teams to monitor progress and costs
- Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
What You’ll Need;
- 4+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within a UK main contractor
- Experience delivering projects across sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, or industrial
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial processes
- Proven ability to manage costs across multiple projects or large schemes
- Strong negotiation and financial management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related field (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
