We are working with a leading Contractor whose NW Regional Construction team would generally deliver projects for clients principally based around Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, North Wales and Cheshire. Projects delivered in the region have been in the commercial, education, health care, industrial and leisure sectors.
They are now in a position to recruit an additional Design Manager to join their team due to a good pipeline of projects due to start on site during 2021.
This is a new role and you will be given a good degree of autonomy working directly with the Regional Director, Commercial Director and Operations Managers.
They are looking for someone to help secure a number of 2 stage tenders and following project award you will also be involved throughout the projects' delivery.
You will look for opportunities for value engineering to make real savings through pre-construction and provide advice on design risk to the commercial, planning, delivery and client teams.
You will produce, agree and manage realistic design programs.
You will ensure the delivery team are working to the correct specifications.
To be successful in this role you will need to have worked as a Design Manager / Design Coordinator for main contractors previously.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will need to have a good understanding of the construction process and will have a good understanding of value engineering.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
