Senior Planner

The Company:

 

We are working with a leading national contractor whose North West Region has an excellent reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects for clients based mainly in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

They secure work through key public sector frameworks and also have excellent relationships with private sector developers.

They have very flexible approach to work – their staff can work from a regional office, projects and home on occasion – the majority of their staff get to work early and leave early to avoid unnecessarily lengthy commutes in rush hour.

 

The Role:

 

They are now in a position to add to their small North West Planning team.

Typical projects are generally constructed within one of the following sectors; education/higher education, healthcare, leisure, multi-storey residential, commercial, industrial, defence or blue light.
Specifically, they are looking for someone to lead the planning on either a new build office or multi storey apartment and leisure scheme both due to hit site in the summer.

 

Reporting in to the Regional Planner typical duties will include;

 

Analyse construction methodologies looking for areas of improvement.

Liaise with the Client and their representatives on planning matters.

Prepare tender programmes.

Attend client interviews and meetings where you will explain programmes and methodology.

Prepare construction programmes, updating progress and forecasting completions.

Identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental considerations are taken in to account.

Work with the Planning team to identify and champion Best Practice.

 

You:

 

To be successful in this role you will need to have worked in a Planning role previously for a building contractor with experience of pre-construction and contract planning within the sectors listed above.

You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.

IT literate with experience using specialist planning software (they use ASTA).
