Senior Quantity Surveyor | Civil Engineering Contractor | Yorkshire | £65k - £75k + Package
I’m working with a well-established and growing civil engineering and groundworks contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor, driven by a strong pipeline of secured work and continued expansion across Yorkshire and the wider UK.

The role offers a mix of office and site-based responsibilities, with the opportunity to take a leading commercial position across multiple schemes.
The Role;
You’ll take full commercial responsibility for projects, leading on all aspects of cost management while supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team.
Key responsibilities include;
- Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account
- Preparing and reviewing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Leading subcontract procurement, negotiation, and appointment
- Managing subcontractor valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Producing and submitting applications for payment and cash flow forecasts
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks and opportunities
- Providing commercial input into project strategy and delivery
- Working closely with operational teams to drive project performance
- Supporting and mentoring Assistant Quantity Surveyors and junior staff
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions and company procedures
What You’ll Need;
- 6+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role within a UK contractor (ideally civils or groundworks)
- Strong experience managing multiple packages or projects commercially
- Proven background working on infrastructure, groundworks, or civil engineering schemes
- Strong knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead, manage, and develop junior team members
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
