Senior Quantity Surveyor | Main Contractor | Yorkshire | £65k–£75k + Package
Looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor role where you can take commercial ownership of your projects and have the freedom to get on with the job?
We're working with an established regional main contractor looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.
You'll take responsibility for your own projects across Yorkshire, managing them commercially from procurement through to final account and working closely with the operational team throughout delivery.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to their projects, building relationships with clients and subcontractors and having the autonomy to make commercial decisions rather than simply reporting upwards.
The Role;
- Take commercial ownership of projects from procurement through to final account
- Manage subcontractor procurement, appointments, valuations and payments
- Produce cost reports, forecasts and monitor project performance
- Manage variations, change control and contractual matters
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Work closely with site and operational teams throughout project delivery
- Manage client valuations and commercial reporting
- Negotiate subcontractor and client final accounts
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chain
What We're Looking For;
- Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or an experienced QS ready to step up
- Main contractor experience
- Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and commercial management
- Good contractual and commercial knowledge
- Comfortable taking responsibility for your own projects
- Confident dealing directly with clients and subcontractors
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
